Baggage Policy

Charter Air Direct

Carry-On Size Restrictions

Each passenger flying with Charter Air Direct can bring 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item free of charge (such as a purse, laptop bag or item of similar size that will fit underneath the seat in front of you).

Whether it’s a duffel for an overnight trip or a roll-aboard bag for a much longer stay, arrive knowing that you can easily store your bag in an overhead bin. The faster you can stow your bag, the faster your flight will be on its way.

Make sure your bag fits this size or reference size check displays located at ticket counters and gates.

  • Combined length + width + height of baggage must not exceed 45 linear inches (114 cm)
  • Individual length, width and height measurements may not exceed 22” x 14” x 9” (56 cm x 35 cm x 23 cm) respectively
  • These measurements include any handles or wheels

Checked Baggage

Checked Baggage size must not exceed 62 inches (158 cm) when you total LENGTH + WIDTH + HEIGHT

If you’re bringing a bag or two, or even 3, review the guidelines for associated fees. Keep in mind, there are separate fees for each limitation a bag exceeds: including size, weight or quantity limits.

1st checked bag = $0
2nd checked bag = $49
3rd checked bag = $150

Overweight Bag- 51 -75 pounds = $100
Bags exceeding 75 pounds are not permitted

Oversized Bag  63 inches – 80 inches = $100
Bags larger than 80 inches are not permitted

Sporting Equipment

You can bring most sports equipment with you on your trip, though keep in mind that standard checked baggage fees apply based on total number of checked bags. Overweight baggage fees apply to bags that exceed 50 lbs and bags cannot exceed 115 linear in/292 cm (length + width + height). Items in excess of the baggage allowance will be subject to additional, overweight, and oversized baggage fees.  All Sports Equipment must be packed in a durable protective container designed specifically for the equipment.

Golf Equipment

You may check one golf bag (per passenger) as a standard item of checked baggage, as long as equipment is contained safely and meets the size requirement. Standard baggage charges apply.

Golf Checked Bag Requirements

  • Standard baggage allowance and fees apply
  • Golf bags weighing over 50 lbs. will be charged the applicable excess weight fee
  • If the outside linear dimensions (length + width + height) exceed 115 linear inches (292 cm), the item will not be accepted
  • Items in excess of baggage allowance will be subject to additional or overweight baggage fees

One Checked Golf Bag Holds:

  • One golf bag
  • One set of golf clubs
  • Golf balls and tees
  • One pair golf shoes

Golf Club Restrictions

  • Must be packaged within a hard-shell case
  • Or, must be packed in a soft-sided golf travel bag, after a limited release has been signed
  • Charter Air Direct is not responsible for damage noted at the time of check-in or damage due to over-packing the bag

Scuba Equipment

One dive bag containing scuba equipment is allowed as checked baggage. Dive Tanks are not allowed.

  • Scuba equipment weighing over 50 lbs. will be charged the applicable excess weight fee
  • If the outside linear dimensions (length + width + height) exceed 115 linear inches (292 cm), the item will not be accepted
  • Items in excess of baggage allowance will be subject to additional or overweight baggage fees
